Instructions for Research Paper
The length of your papers must be at least 6 and no more than 10 pages.
You must submit your paper to me as an e-mail attachment at the latest on Sunday midnight before your oral presentation. I will forward your paper to all participants for whom I have an e-mail address. My e-mail address is: holdsworth@dhlaw.de. If you cannot e-mail your paper, please prepare copies of your paper to hand out to all of your classmates one week before your presentation.
You must include a bibliography of the works that you relied on. The works you refer to must conform to recognized citation rules. I recommend that you use the following rules: http://www.law.cornell.edu/citation/
Extensive footnotes are not required, but even if you include footnotes, you must also include a bibliography in your paper.
Your bibliography must include a list of all cases and statutes referred to in your paper. You must use the official citation.
Background material for your paper can be found on the course website under: http://www.dhlaw.de/eng/elt/ResTopics.htm
Your paper will not be accepted if passages are evidently copied from other sources.
